GRAPHIC DESIGN...
|
Title// MINI Belt
Client// MINI Space Design Competition
Brief// Design a background reinterpreting the topic 'Electrified' that can be used on the MINI Space website.
Concept// I wanted to create a dynamic and vibrant piece to represent the electrified theme. Using an Outer Space concept allowed me to experiment with colour and lights to 'electrify' the piece.

Title// CAPOW!
Client// Composers and Performers Out West
Brief// Design two A3 poster templates, one coloured and one black and white, in a pop art inspired aesthetic. Incorporate a logo concept for 'CAPOW!', the UWS logo and enough white space for the client to include handwritten details of their music events.
Concept// Since the brief was to be inspired by pop art, I researched into this art genre and found a fun way to represent it through dialogue and a retro quality for each poster.

Title// Un4Seen Music Festival posters
Client// UWS Third Year Music Students and their Co-ordinator
Brief// Design 'funky' posters to promote the Third Year Music Graduate Festival
Concept// Since 2008 was the first year the graduate festival was being promoted, I wanted to create a poster design that was fresh and vibrant. The poster design on the left is a developed and finalised poster design incorporating the festival's logo and information and the poster design on the right is one of my conceptual works

Title// Robbing Us Blind? - Magazine spread
Client// University project for Publications unit
Brief// Write an article and design spreads to be featured in Sample Magazine publication
Concept// The article I wrote focused on how poker machine designs lure us into playing them. I wanted to focus on the bright colours poker machines use as one of their design tactics

Title// Designa-Cola
Client// The School of Communication Arts, UWS and Russell Kerr, Honours Co-ordinator RMIT University
Brief// Design an exhibition poster that visually represents my individual position statement based on my design ethics. Poster to be displayed at RMIT campus during the AGIDEAS 2008 Design Exhibition and put on final permanent display at the Werrington South campus of UWS.
Concept// Since my poster is focused on morals and ethics in design practice, I looked back to the virtuous era of the 1950s and their advertisements as a way to 'sell' design ethics.

ILLUSTRATION...

Title// Arcane Island
Client// University project for Communication Design Major Project
Brief// This was a flexible project that allowed the students to create our own designs.
Concept// I did a predominantly illustrative based design that represented various characters that would be found in a video game. These characters and their stories would be included in a promotional booklet that came with the video game for the consumer to learn more about these characters. Here are a few illustrations from my booklet. You can also download a PDF file of the booklet here.

Title// Kung-Fu Panda Vs. Wall-e
Client// University project for Illustration: Advertising & Editorial unit
Brief// Choose an article from a lifestyle magazine and make an editorial magazine illustration to represent the article.
Concept// The article I chose was in a video gaming magazine, Playstation - Official Magazine UK, and it was a review about the video game 'Kung Fu Panda' being better than the 'Wall-e' video game. This illustration simply shows Kung Fu Panda tearing Wall-e apart!
